Help your body heal itself with Orthobiologics

Are you suffering from pain or injury but are not quite ready for surgery? Take a cue from professional athletes who’ve discovered the benefits of regenerative medicine to help heal injuries and treat pain in a natural way.

If you follow sports, you may have heard of injured athletes who seemingly heal and return to the game—and fast. Professional athletes not only have trainers and specialists, but have access to little-known special procedures such as orthobiologics, the use of natural substances like blood and plasma to quickly heal injuries.

Most Common Injuries Treated with Orthobiologics

  • Tendonitis
  • Rotator cuff tears
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Arthritic joints
  • Overuse injuries

Platelet rich plasma injection, or PRP, is one example of orthobiologics. It’s a process that takes the plasma from your own blood, which is packaged full of growth factors. Those healthy growth factors are then concentrated and injected into your injury, allowing natural anti-inflammatory properties repair tissue and speed up your recovery.

Another example of orthobiologics are lipogems joint pain injections. Lipogems is an alternative option to surgery where regenerative cells from adipose tissue (fat) from your abdomen is injected into your area of injury. This helps to repair, replace, cushion and support damaged or injured joint tissue. This procedure is done in your doctor’s office in about an hour.

  • My experience from initial evaluation to currently 1 week post-operative has been nothing less than amazing. Dr. Beamer and P.A. Barocio at the Marshall Orthopedic and Sports Center in El Dorado Hills, CA found severe damage to my right hip joint and recommended surgery. Having experienced several surgical procedures in several different hospitals in past years I was less than enthused. Preoperative paperwork was provided and any assistance I needed was provided. In one case, I needed a final blood draw which was done a week in advance but apparently not submitted to Dr. Beamer. His staff contacted me to remind me of the requirement, and when informed of the time crunch, the staff set an appointment at Marshall Hospital in order to prevent postponement. Professionalism, positivity, honestly addressing concerns, and level of care experienced there inspired increasing confidence leading to completion of surgery Dec 31, 2018.

Every member of Marshall Staff, from the surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgical staff, RN’s and MA’s, physical therapists, housekeeping, and cafeteria demonstrated courteous and respectful care, an experience that was confirmed by speaking with my post operative roommate who had been there 8 days. While this may not be consistent across all patients experiencing this surgery, my pain level was minimum, even when they took me out to try a walk.
Four months prior, I was my mother’s surgical buddy for the same procedure in a different hospital, and while satisfactory, the level of care was not the same. She has since joked with me that she was jealous! After care has been excellent as well, with RN’s checking and caring for the wound twice weekly, and physical therapy once per week.

My wife and greatest treasure will require orthroscopic knee surgery, and I am so grateful to know Dr. Beamer, his staff, Marshall Hospital, and their staff will be there for her. Any reservations and concerns I had for her treatment and recovery have been dissipated by the unbelievable care I have experienced from start to near completion of my process. Although I am aware patient experiences are subjective, I commend the professionalism, respectful, compassionate, and caring treatment received at their hands, and highly recommend their services.

  • Last week I had a total hip replacement and the process from intake through surgery and hospital stay couldn't have been better. The surgical staff, headed by Dr. Beamer, put me at ease at every step, fully explaining what would be happening and what to expect. Transfer to recovery and then to the hospital floor went smoothly and efficiently. I would like to recognize two individuals who I felt went above and beyond expectations in providing aspects of my hospital care. RN Teri not only provided excellent care but took the time to connect with me as a person as well as a patient. Her personable approach put me at ease, at the same time I was confident that I was receiving the best care. The second person, Ana, was an aide during the overnight shift. She also provided great care, and in a manner that was respectful of the overnight hours and approached me in a very kind and thoughtful way that minimized disruption during the night.

My great experience is continuing with Marshall Home Care. Both the nurses and the physical therapist are providing very thorough and effective care.
My experience, from start to finish, with Marshall Medical Center was excellent. I was treated respectfully by all staff who were personable and professional.
