Marshall's Fifth Women's Health Expo to Feature 5k Fun Run/Walk, Health Screenings and Fitness/Health Info from Providers

August 26, 2016—Marshall will once again host its Women's Health Expo and noncompetitive 5K fun run/walk at El Dorado Hills Town Center the morning of Saturday, September 10. This marks Marshall’s fifth Women’s Health Expo and each year has been a success.

The event runs from 8-10:30 a.m. and is open to the public. The $20 registration fee includes the fun run/walk, health expo, health expert demonstrations and a snazzy event t-shirt. Registration can be done online at marshallwomenshealth.com.

Onsite sign-in for the run will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the run starting at 8 a.m. It will be followed by the health expo featuring free health screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat/weight, flexibility/strength and lung function. Within the health expo area, Alicia Tobin-Williams, MD of Marshall OB/GYN will answer questions and discuss concerns regarding the emerging Zika virus.

Health demonstrations from other Marshall health experts will also be available following the run. Brandon Beamer, MD, of Marshall Orthopedics and Sports Medicine will feature injury prevention tips, and Margie Jamrowski, Physical Therapy Assistant, will demonstrate core strength exercises that can be adapted for home fitness activities.
