March 10, 2015— Marshall Community Health Library in Cameron Park is pleased to host a special Suicide Awareness Workshop presented by WellSpace Health. It will take place Wednesday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at 3581 Palmer Drive, Building 501 in Cameron Park.
This free seminar will provide information on how to access WellSpace Health’s 24hr Suicide Prevention Crisis Lines, Crisis Chat and Texting services, and other services, along with basic suicide prevention and intervention. The information will be useful for helping anyone in need of emotional support, looking for more knowledge about suicide, or helping someone who is feeling suicidal.
Gaining knowledge about suicide, along with learning what resources are available, can help aid in the reduction of fears and stigma, as well as provide the community with resources that they may not have known were available to those in crisis. Wallet cards and posters will be provided.
The presenter from WellSpace Health will be Amanda Rawnsley, Outreach and Training Coordinator. To pre-register (space is limited), please phone the Marshall Community Health Library at 530-626-2778. To learn more about WellSpace Health’s Suicide Prevention program, call 916-368-3118.
