About Tonantzin Rodriguez

Tonantzin E. Rodriguez, MD, MPH is a licensed family medicine physician caring for patients of all ages at Marshall Medical Sierra Family Medicine in Placerville. Raised in northern California, Dr. Rodriguez takes pride in promoting preventive medicine and “treating patients like family.”

Dr. Rodriguez earned her bachelor's degree in anthropology and her medical degree from UC Davis. She captured numerous awards and honors, including the UC Davis School of Medicine Academic Medicine Award. She spent several years volunteering at a free clinic for the uninsured in Sacramento. Dr. Rodriguez arrived to Marshall after serving as Chief Resident of the Sutter Health Family Medicine Program.

Professional interests: preventive medicine, chronic disease management, reproductive health, transgender/ LGBTQQI health, teaching/mentoring. Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the National Hispanic Medical Association. Outside of practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young children.
