About Rebecca Sonu

Rebecca Sonu, MD, is an anatomic and clinical pathologist who is dedicated to ensuring that patients at Marshall are given the most accurate and up to date diagnosis. Dr. Sonu received her undergraduate degree in biology at UC San Diego, completed for medical school training at Ross University and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) residency at the UC Davis Medical Center. After residency, she completed one year fellowships in both hematopathology at UC Davis and transfusion medicine at Stanford.

Dr. Sonu is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, hematopathology and transfusion medicine. She is also currently an online instructor for the UC Berkeley Extension Hematology Course. Dr. Sonu is a Fellow at the College of American Pathologists and a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
