About Niraj Patel

Niraj Patel, MD grew up in Folsom after being born in Chicago. The son of a physician, he graduated from Folsom High School.

Dr. Patel’s areas of clinical expertise include joint injections, intrauterine device (IUD) placements and biopsies. He has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He takes pride in recognizing and treating acute illnesses.

Dr. Patel graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (2008). He later earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine on the Caribbean island of Domenica. He arrived at Marshall after completing residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys playing golf and tennis. He also enjoys travelling, particularly to Europe and the Mediterranean.
