Marshall & Medical Research
As a healing institution, Marshall supports medical research
to find cures for deadly and debilitating disease. Marshall does not perform
abortions nor collect fetal tissue. Marshall does have a relationship
with StemExpress, limited to the following initiatives:
- Procurement of cord blood from women who give birth and do not wish to
bank it themselves. Cord blood is a byproduct of afterbirth and would
otherwise be disposed of as medical waste.
- Marshall’s laboratory receives and processes blood samples sent to
StemExpress from hospitals and universities nationwide; our lab performs
the infectious disease screening these samples must undergo.
Marshall advocates ethical and compliant medical research that is saving
and improving lives around the world.
